Dick Hamlin ( - 1982 )


Dick Hamlin, son of Gene Hamlin were from Topinabee Michigan and Dick died in 1982. The Hamlins were Potawatomi Native Americans who guided fisherman who came to stay a the hotel on Mullet Lake. Both Dick and Gene made their own lures and decoys and were revered as the best fishing guides in Northern Michigan's Lower Peninsula. More info in "The Fish Decoy" book 3.

Note: Dick Nissley (deceased) a historian in the Mullet, Burt & Black Lakes area procured a number of fish decoys from the Hamlin family and he wrote the name Dick Hamlin on the bottom of the decoy for future documentation.
