Emil Loe was born in 1902 in a town called Akely Minnesota and died in 1981. He call Hibbing Minnesota his home. He was a guide and outdoorsman and fish the Pelican Lake near Orr Minnesota. He started carving decoys sometime in the 1940s and quit a couple years prior to his death.
