Cliff McNamara was born in 1957.
Cliff McNamara is from Kalkaska, Michigan. Clifford reported to Gary Miller of Michigan (Site Contributor) that he has carved 800 - 900 decoys since 1973 and is still carving today (2007). The oversized exaggerated dorsal fin is a typical feature of Clifford's carvings. He learned to carve from his father, also named Clifford McNamara, who speared Lake Trout commercially on Simmon's Reef, 17 miles out in Lake Superior off of Whitefish Point. The red decoy below came from Ron Fritz collection in 1999, the author of the book on Oscar Peterson, "Michigan's Master Carver".
This fish has metal fins and wood tail, red underbelly black spotted body over a natural wood color.
