Gene being a carpenter all of his life so working with wood was a natural for him. He carves fish decoys as well as ducks, birds and other animals. Beth like to paint - starting out painting pet rocks - she now paints what Gene carves and finds it more challenging.

They received overall 5th place in the Brainerd and Perham shows.

Second Place Winning Entry in the Folk-Art fish decoy from the 2005 Bob Johnson Invitational Fish Decoy Show in Brainerd, Minnesota.  It measures 10.75" long with glass eyes and a very patriotic paint scheme. It is a unusual carving as you can clearly see. It is weighted to swim and tank tested.
