Michael Harold Eyre was born in 1955 and is a retired taxidermist from Ontario, Canada. He is an avid hunter and fisher. Began carving lures only in July 2006. He inherrited his carving and painting talents from his father Harold Henry Eyre who is 75 years old (2006). He graduated as a fish & wildlife technician in 1973. Michael told me that "I like to carve series of lures, ie; different species of whales, seahorses, ect."
Michael and his father Harold work as a team in carving and painting to creat awesome wood carvings. His lures are for both the collector. Each lure is sealed with 2 coats of clear lacquer for the fisherman.
This lure is made from gum tree woood from Australia and it is a representation of a male wood duck with #4 nickel treble hoos and is ready for the water to attract bass, pike, muskie, pikerel, but it is really made for the collector's shelf. It is hand painted and carved to look like a vintange, antique decoy fishing lure. It measures 3.5 inches long x 2 inches hig and is 1.5 ounces.
