Regional Style

regional style:  an ice spear fishing history, material culture, and behavior associated with a particular geographical area.  Regional styles for Michigan include the cities of Detroit, Lake St. Clair, Mount Clemmons, New Baltimore, Newberry, and Tower; Lake Chautauqua in New York; Lake Fond du Lac and Lac du Flambeau in Wisconsin; Hamilton Bay in Ontario, Canada; and the Upper Mississippi River, La Crosse Reach. Ice spear fishing stylistic regions are often not well documented; their development and origins remain elusive.
